Mmmmm… Nothing tastes better than a 1 inch, juicy, 16 ounce …. Ca Ca Steak?
Wait… Is he really selling Ca Ca steaks? Does he know what others might be thinking about his steaks?
This is the view my family had of a roadside truck selling steaks… we couldn’t believe our eyes – we had an opportunity to buy Ca Ca Steaks at a 50% discount!
Now, I’m not one for missing out on opportunities, so I dropped of my wife and kids at the park, where we planned an afternoon picnic at the park, and I went back with camera in hand to find out what the scoop was on Ca Ca Steaks… That 50% off of a Ca Ca steak really had my glands working overtime!
As I approached the truck, I was instantly disappointed (or is that relieved)… My Ca Ca steaks suddenly became “Ca Cr Checks” . Yep -They take cash, credit and checks. How disappointing, I was really hoping that these Ca Ca steaks where a distant cousin of kobe beef steaks. Oh Well….
The lesson here is to make sure that your customers understand your intentions from near and far… And I don’t just mean the visual aspect like banners, billboards and other advertisements.
Make sure that your customers, and potential customers, understand your true overall business message. Make sure they they understand things like what products do you sell and what products don’t you sell. Who your target audience is and isn’t.
It’s every bit as important for your customers to know your message as it is for you to understand your message. After all, your clients, as advocates, are cheaper, can provide highly qualified leads, and provide social proofing without you having to do anything, except make your message crystal clear.
