Planning + Action = Results

Dominate During Downturns

Today, as Kettlewell Enterprises releases the new Total Domination Mentorship program I am reminded of a story that I recently heard.

In an economic downturn, not unlike the one currently being reported by the news, there was a strip mall with three very nice furniture stores.  Each store had its own style and each store fought for the same customer.

One of the first things to go when people are worried about money is the luxury purchases, such as new furniture.   So, these three stores were fighting for  fewer customers and things were starting to look bleak.

One day the store on the right side decided it was time take action and the owner put up a huge sign that read, “Inventory Closeout – Everything on Sale!”  The two other store owners watched as most of the customers pulling into the lot responded to the sign and went directly for the store on the right.

Now the store owner on the left side thought for awhile and decided that he too was going to take action to entice buyers into his store.  So, he decided to have his own sign made that said, “Everything Must Go!  Lowest Prices of the Year!”

The store owner in between watched as customers flooded into the stores to his right and left, but never saw his door.  He sat back and he evaluated the situation, he knew that the signs were having a huge impact on the customers and their choices of which door to enter.  He took a few days to consider what he was going to do, and finally he purchased a sign.  It simply read, “Main Entrance.”

It doesn’t matter if there is an economic downturn, it doesn’t even matter what industry you are in during that downturn, what matters is how you REACT.

The owner of the store in the middle decided that it was time to dominate his market.  He was ready to take on his neighbors and fight for each and every customer that pulled into the parking lot.  He understood that his business need not suffer, and that he was in control.

The Total Domination Mentorship Program is all about how you respond to what is going on in your market.   It is a simple decision.  It is an investment.  It is what will post the sign on your website that says, “Main Entrance.”
