Field of Dreams – It's a Trap!

Remember the movie “Field of Dreams” ?

and the voice would pester the farmer with “build it and he will come…” ?

Well – websites and businesses aren’t like that. You have to tell people that you exist, are in business, and want to genuinely help them.

Don’t fall for the ‘ole “Build it and he will come” syndrome.

I’ve actually heard people say that they don’t want to advertise too much because they wouldn’t be able to handle the business – don’t disillusion yourself – worry about the problem when it becomes one, but not a moment before then. Trust me, a single newspaper or phone book ad is not enough to clog your phone lines.
