I just attended Grand Junctions second “TweetUp” – a meeting of online Twitter friends - at the local Traders coffee shop.
It was my first tweetup, so I wasn’t exactly sure of what to expect, but knowing that my old friend Rick Castellini set things up, I knew it would be something nice.
Rick and I worked at the same ISP many years ago, and I haven’t seen him since we left, so I was excited to see an old friend as well.
And nice it was – he even had nametag’s for us with our profile picture!
Rick used the Twtvite service to manage the RSVP aspect, and give others an idea of who would be there.
The first TweetUp only had three people, but this one had an amazing 13 Grand Junction “Tweeps” show up to get together and share information on each other, each others businesses, how we use Twitter, and how we can get Twitter to be more ingrained into the Grand Junction way of life.
We decided to use the hashtag #gjco to discern our local traffic from the larger scope of Twitter, and help keep us all in communication of each other.
I know I said that there were 14 there, but that’s not entirely accurate… there were 6 honorable mentions – George brought along his wife, Jennifer (@jaybirddesigns) brought along her 2 kids, and Jen and I brought along our 3 little ones.
So if you really tally it all up, there were 20 people that attended this event. Next time we’re gonna need a bigger room!!
We’re going to be running another TweetUp in the near future… contact any of the attendees below to find out when the next one is:
- KyleSC
- HelpMeRick
- TalkingDigital
- NightShiftNurse
- Kettlewell
- JenKettlewell
- Visionairey
- GhostOfKeywork
- GJSO
- FuzionMuse
- CanyonRat
- JaybirdDesigns
- DownTownGJ
Looking forward to the next Tweetup!

Why does the Admins of this website don’t start a company for this specific topic, they have lots of knowledge as I read and they know what they are doing.
