As the New Year approaches it is time to evaluate the 5 things you set and forget related to your Internet marketing:
- Monthly Newsletters – Each January it is time to set up twelve more newsletters into the hopper of your auto-responder. If you are still looking for the perfect auto-responder we use aWeber. Why struggle through the year trying to remember to get your newsletter out, set it all up once and you can always tweak to add fresh content before the newsletter actually goes out.
- Credit card processing – make sure you are getting the best rates possible. Just like you might shop for your auto insurance on a regular basis you should take a look at your credit card processing as rates do change. We use Sterling Payment Systems.
- Email Signature – Your email signature should be pithy and powerful. Are you taking ten lines to say what you are about and really it should be said in two? Treat your email signature line like you would a Tweet – limited number of characters and it still needs to make sense.
- Internet Advertising – PPC campaigns and banner exchanges should be evaluated on a regular basis; however at the year mark it may be time to analyze trends in searching and make sure that the advertising message is still relevant, or if improvements might be made. Try Google Trends for ideas.
- Contact Information – Make sure that in all places you are using the correct contact information; this would be in any directories you belong to online and memberships that you maintain for your business.
Internet marketing is not only about getting the right information about your company out there; it is about making sure the correct information is out there. Maybe a phone number changed, or your office moved, quite possibly you have a web site that you didn’t have when you first signed up to online directories.
Start the New Year off right by making sure your information in cyberspace is right.
