Why Your Website Will Do Well During a Recession

During times of feast or famine, there are opportunities.

And economic downturns are the famine of times, but with a careful pair of eyes, you can see all the opportunities that are laid before you… but don’t blink, or you just might miss the opportunity that you’ve been looking for.

So why would I say that your website can do well during a recession?  Why would I say that now is the prime time to market your website heavily?

You’ve looked at your stats, you’ve taken surveys… and no one is going to your site.  So why should you invest time and money on your site’s marketing and development?

Because no one else is!

The amount of competition that you have online right now is less than usual, because everybody has chosen to reduce their marketing budget until the recession is over.

So make sure that you have a good solid design on your website that has a strong USP (unique selling point) and a solid call to action.  Your site needs to be well layed out and convert traffic before you market it.

Once you have a strong converting website – market the heck out of it! I’ve doubled my marketing efforts this last year, and haven’t regretted it one bit.

I have a philosophy (like many successful entrepreneurs), that the recession is mostly a figment of our imaginations.  Yes, there are economic troubles.  But vastly blown out of proportion by the media.

Take pride in beating the recession.  Many are doing it now.  Many have done it in the past.  Do a Google search for past recessionary (and depressionary) success stories, and find out what they did to survive.

Jay Abraham is a world-class marketing guru that has been preaching very relevant and useful material on how to beat the recession, by going back in time and finding what the successful people did to beat it.

You can beat the recession too!  You just have to believe, and act on your new opportunities.

  1. I wanted to tell you thanks for posting this and also I wanted to tell you that for some reason, I am unable to get your site to work right in IE8. When I switch to Firefox, it seems to work fine. Not sure if it’s a problem with one of the plugins you use, or if it’s something wrong on my end, who knows.
